Child among 8 burnt to death in car-truck head-on collision in India

A devastating incident on the Bareilly-Nainital Highway in the Bhojipura police station area of Uttar Pradesh, India resulted in the tragic loss of eight lives, including that of a child, after a car collided head-on with a dumper (truck) on Saturday night, according to police reports. Additionally, two occupants of the dumper sustained critical injuries in the collision.

Witnesses present at the scene informed the media that the car's tire had burst, leading to the collision with the dumper that was traveling from Uttarakhand.
Upon receiving the distress call, a police team promptly reached the location while fire engines were summoned to extinguish the flames. Unfortunately, the occupants of the car were unable to escape the inferno as the doors were locked from the inside, resulting in them being trapped and burned alive.
GS Chandrabhan, the Special Superintendent of Police (SSP), confirmed the tragic demise of all individuals involved in the collision.
'An Ertiga collided with a truck on the (Nainital) highway. Subsequently, a fire erupted in the car, and eight people, including a child, lost their lives. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations,' Chandrabhan conveyed to the media.
He further stated that the police had taken custody of the bodies and arranged for their post-mortem examinations to ascertain the exact cause of death.
