Dhaka-Delhi relation touching new heights: Modi

Indian Premier Narendra Modi expressed that the relationship between Dhaka and New Delhi has been consistently reaching new heights as he jointly inaugurated two rail links and a power project with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through a video conference.

PM Modi, speaking in Hindi during the inauguration of the three projects, stated, "It is a matter of happiness that we have come together to celebrate the success of India-Bangladesh cooperation. Our relations are reaching new heights." He noted the remarkable progress in India-Bangladesh relations.
The connectivity initiatives established between India and Bangladesh played a vital role during the Covid-19 pandemic, with India's Oxygen Express train delivering over 4,000 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen to Bangladesh.
During the inauguration of the Akhaura-Agartala rail link, Modi emphasized that it marked the first direct rail link between Bangladesh and the northeastern region of India. He also highlighted that the Khulna-Mongla rail link has facilitated connections between trade centers in Dhaka and Kolkata.
