Bangladesh's foreign adviser to meet Jaishankar on sidelines of Indian Ocean Conference

Bangladesh's Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain is set to meet with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmaniam Jaishankar, on the sidelines of the two-day 8th Indian Ocean Conference in Oman's Muscat. The two-day event will serve as a platform for high-level diplomatic discussions.
Jointly organized by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Omani government, with support from the India Foundation, a think tank based in Delhi, the conference will bring together representatives from 27 countries. Among the key attendees are foreign ministers from Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
Additionally, China’s Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, Zhai Jun, will participate in the event, marking the first time a Chinese official has attended since 2019, according to a report by The Hindu.
The meeting between Hossain and Jaishankar holds particular significance as it follows a recent high-profile discussion between US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the United States.
