Bangladesh foreign advisor to meet india's Jaishankar

Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Md Touhid Hossain, is expected to hold discussions with India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, during the upcoming Indian Ocean Conference in Oman next week.
The meeting aims to strengthen diplomatic relations and address any emerging issues between the two neighboring countries, according to a media report.
The 8th Indian Ocean Conference (IOC 2025) is scheduled to take place in Muscat on February 16-17. Organized by the India Foundation, a New Delhi-based think tank, in collaboration with Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the conference provides an important platform for regional cooperation and policy discussions.
Last month, Jaishankar extended an invitation to Touhid Hossain to attend the event, highlighting India’s commitment to fostering strong ties with Bangladesh. If the anticipated meeting materializes, it will be the second time in five months that the two diplomats have engaged in direct talks. Their previous discussion took place in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in September 2024.
