US hands over airfield support equipment to Bangladesh

The United States Global Peacekeeping Operations Initiative and the Office of Defence Cooperation at the US Embassy in Dhaka have handed over airfield support equipment, including telescopic forklifts and an aircraft tow tractor to Bangladesh Air Force's 212 Maintenance Unit.

The US embassy in Dhaka shared this update on its official Facebook page, highlighting the important role Bangladesh Air Force plays in global peacekeeping. The force provides airlift capabilities for several UN peacekeeping missions around the world, offering tactical airlift and airfield services.
In addition to peacekeeping, Bangladesh Air Force has actively supported disaster relief efforts in various countries, utilizing its strategic and tactical airlift resources, including its C-130 aircraft fleet.
The cooperation between the US and Bangladesh Air Force also extends to joint training exercises like Exercise Cope South. This exercise involves C-130 aircraft from both nations and focuses on key operations such as formation flying, airdrops, maintenance, and airfield management.
The statement emphasized that ongoing collaboration between the Global Peacekeeping Operations Initiative, Pacific Air Forces, and Bangladesh Air Force strengthens their capabilities in peacekeeping, disaster response, and airlift readiness. This partnership underscores the shared commitment to advancing global peace and enhancing rapid response to disasters, contributing to a more secure and stable world.
