Malaysia's prime minister Anwar Ibrahim to visit Bangladesh

Malaysia's Premier Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to visit Bangladesh. If all goes as planned, he will arrive in Bangladesh on October 4. Prior to this, he will visit Pakistan and then travel to Bangladesh from there.

The Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia has confirmed that during the visit, Anwar will meet with Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to Bangladesh’s interim government, as well as the country's President.
Anwar's interest in visiting Bangladesh arose after recent political developments there. On August 14, he personally congratulated Dr. Yunus in a phone call and expressed his intent to visit soon.
During their conversation, Dr. Yunus emphasized his commitment to protecting the rights of all Bangladeshi citizens, including minority groups. He also extended a formal invitation to Anwar, encouraging the visit to strengthen the bonds between the two nations. Anwar, in turn, showed enthusiasm for the trip.
Anwar, reflecting on his close relationship with Yunus, voiced his satisfaction with their longstanding ties. He assured that Malaysia stands ready to support Bangladesh’s interim government and expressed interest in collaborating with Bangladesh on its journey toward prosperity and democracy.
