PM Hasina to go to Delhi to attend the swearing-in of India's Modi

Bangladesh's Premier Sheikh Hasina is set to visit India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, who is about to begin his third consecutive term as the country's prime minister.

According to an announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday, Narendra Modi extended an invitation to Sheikh Hasina for the ceremony of his new cabinet. She will depart for Delhi on Friday.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), spearheaded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured the majority of seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Out of the 543 available seats, the NDA won 293 as a coalition, with the BJP securing 240 seats independently.
A minimum of 272 seats is required to form a government. Although the BJP did not retain its previous absolute majority, it will still form the government for a third consecutive term with its alliance partners. Modi's oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for Saturday.
Prime Minister Hasina has expressed her optimism that the friendly and close relations between Bangladesh and India will continue to thrive in various sectors during Modi's new term.
