Babar Ali becomes 6th Bangladeshi to conquer Mount Everest

Babar Ali from Chittagong has become the sixth Bangladeshi to conquer Mount Everest, the highest peak on Earth. He reached the summit at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, proudly raising the red and green flag of Bangladesh. His mountaineering club, Vertical Dreamers, announced his achievement via a Facebook post, stating, “Babar is now on his way down to Camp-4.

Dr. Babar’s accomplishment has received widespread acclaim across social media. Farhan Zaman, the expedition’s chief coordinator, confirmed the ascent, saying, “Babar Ali reached the highest peak, Everest, at 8:30 a.m. local time (Nepal) and 8:45 a.m. Bangladesh time this morning.”
Dr. Babar, who left Bangladesh for Nepal on April 1, underwent extensive preparation before embarking on his Everest journey. After a week of trekking from Kathmandu to the base camp, he began his ascent.
With this successful climb, Dr. Babar now aims to conquer Mount Lhotse, the fourth-highest mountain in the world. If he succeeds, he will be the first Bangladeshi to summit Lhotse and the first to climb two 8,000-meter peaks in a single expedition, marking a significant milestone in Bangladeshi mountaineering.

To date, five other Bangladeshis have successfully scaled Mount Everest-

Musa Ibrahim: The first Bangladeshi to reach the summit on May 23, 2010.
MA Mohit: Achieved this feat twice, on May 21, 2011, and May 20, 2012.
Nishat Majumder: The first Bangladeshi woman to conquer Everest, reaching the summit on May 19, 2012.
Wasfia Nazreen: The second Bangladeshi woman to do so on May 26, 2012.
Sajal Khaled: Scaled Everest in 2013 but tragically died during his descent.
