Saudi Crown Prince Salman to visit Bangladesh later this year
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Bangladesh later this year.
This forthcoming visit is anticipated to be a momentous occasion in the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. aimed at bolstering ties, particularly in the realms of trade and commerce, investment, and economic collaboration, according to officials from both sides.
Confirming the news, Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Yussef Essa Al Duhailan stated, 'The Saudi crown prince has graciously accepted the invitation extended by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh to visit the country this year. While the exact date has yet to be finalized, the visit is expected to occur in the second half of the current year.'
This visit holds significant historical importance as it will mark the first-ever visit by a Saudi crown prince to Bangladesh since 1985 when the then Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz visited Dhaka.
During the visit of the Saudi leader, both countries anticipate signing a multitude of bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), which are poised to substantially fortify the existing ties between them. This visit underscores the mutual commitment of Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia towards fostering stronger diplomatic, economic, and strategic relations.
