US supports a prosperous and democratic Bangladesh

The United States is committed to supporting a thriving, secure, and democratic Bangladesh, a message conveyed by the visiting US delegation during their meeting with Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud.

In a verified Facebook post, the US Embassy reported on the discussions held with the Foreign Minister, emphasizing the shared interests of the two countries in areas such as economic development, security, refugees, climate, labor, and trade. The embassy highlighted Bangladesh's significance as a crucial partner in the Indo-Pacific region.
Led by US Special Assistant to President Biden, Eileen Loubacher, the delegation included USAID Assistant Administrator Michael Schiffer and State Department Deputy Assistant Secretary Afreen Akhter. Their three-day visit to Dhaka aimed to strengthen bilateral ties.
Acknowledging Bangladesh as one of the largest recipients of US investment and its primary export market, the embassy expressed the United States' readiness to assist in creating a business-friendly environment that attracts increased investment from the US. The collaboration underscores the deepening relationship between the two nations.
