US committed to support Bangladesh: Joe Biden

US President Joe Biden has extended his commitment to supporting Bangladesh in a letter addressed to Premier Sheikh Hasina, who has assumed power for the fourth consecutive term.

President Biden conveyed the United States' dedication to assisting Bangladesh in realizing its economic aspirations.
Expressing eagerness to collaborate closely President Biden's letter, recently delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the US Embassy in Dhaka, emphasizes the US's commitment to working alongside Bangladesh to achieve its economic goals. The President highlighted the historical success of their collaboration in addressing challenges and emphasized the strong foundation of people-to-people ties that underpin the bilateral relationship.
In addition to economic cooperation President Biden articulated his willingness to reinforce ties with Bangladesh, particularly in alignment with their shared vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific region. The letter underscores the longstanding history of successful collaboration between the two nations and the importance of people-to-people connections in fostering a robust relationship.
It is noteworthy that the Awami League secured an absolute majority in the 12th parliamentary elections forming the government for the fourth consecutive term. Sheikh Hasina, the party's president, was subsequently elected as the Prime Minister for the fourth consecutive term and the fifth time overall.
The letter from President Biden affirms the continued commitment of the United States to work in partnership with Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
