Bangladesh_ Malaysia reaffirm commitment for further strengthening ties

Bangladesh and Malaysia have discussed the issues of mutual interest including the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening ties between the two brotherly countries in the days ahead.

Malaysian Premier Ismail Sabri Yaakob expressed his keenness to visit Bangladesh on a mutually convenient date in the near future.

Referring to the invitation from Premier Sheikh Hasina to the Malaysian PM_ Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen requested him to visit Bangladesh this year for the golden jubilee of bilateral relations.

Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Momen visited Kuala Lumpur on July 19-20. During the visit_ FM Momen called on Malaysian Premier Ismail Sabri Yaakob in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

The foreign minister exchanged felicitations with the Malaysian PM on the occasion of the 50 years of bilateral diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah hosted a working lunch for Bangladesh FM AK Abdul Momem.

Two Foreign Minister discussed the issues of Rohingya repatriation_ Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)_ D-8 and the need for enhanced cooperation in the areas of trade and investment.
