Bangladeshi garment factory top rank in global LEED green factories list
Bangladeshi garment factory SM Sourcing ltd now claims the number one spot in the global Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Factory rankings with a score of 106 out of a total 110.
This accomplishment surpasses the previous leading position held by Green Textiles Ltd Unit 4, which scored 104 points.
Bangladesh's ascent in this realm is evident, with 54 of the world's top 100 ranked factories now situated in the country. Among these, 9 occupy positions in the top 10, while 18 rank within the top 20.
LEED, renowned as the foremost green building rating system worldwide, offers a framework promoting healthy, efficient, and cost-effective green structures across diverse building types. The certification serves as a globally acknowledged symbol denoting significant achievements and leadership in sustainability.
