IMF lauds Bangladesh for proactive economic management

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lauded Bangladesh for its proactive economic management amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Quoting the IMF Deputy Managing Director Antoinette Monsio Sayeh, Bangladesh Bank Spokesman Mezbaul Haque said this after a meeting with IMF at the central bank headquarters in Dhaka on Sunday. 
A four-member IMF delegation, including its DMD Antoinette Monsio Sayeh, had a meeting with Bangladesh Bank senior officials. Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rouf Talukder attended the meeting. 
The IMF team arrived in Dhaka on Saturday on a five-day visit. 
Bangladesh Bank Spokesman Mezbaul Haque said the issues of discussion at the meeting included challenges to be faced in the upcoming monetary policy. He said the meeting also discussed several issues including climate financing from the IMF. 
The issues of the capacity building faced by the government and the Bangladesh Bank were also discussed, Mezbaul Haque added.
According to Finance Ministry sources, IMF DMD Antoinette Monsio Sayeh came to Dhaka from Delhi after completing her Indian visit.
