Bangladesh to host major investment summit in April

The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) is preparing to host a high-profile investment summit in April aimed at accelerating foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country.

According to Bida officials, the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025, scheduled from 7 to 10 April, has already garnered interest from over 3,000 delegates representing more than 40 countries.
Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus is expected to inaugurate the event in Dhaka, where key stakeholders from the global investment community will gather to explore potential opportunities and build strategic partnerships.
“The summit will serve as a premier platform to showcase Bangladesh’s investment landscape, promote collaboration, and engage with influential global business leaders,” said Nahian Rahman Rochi, Bida’s Head of Business Development.
Rochi emphasized that the summit will focus on five key sectors: Renewable Energy, Digital Economy, Textile and Apparel, Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals, Agro-Processing.
Business delegates from regions including China, North Asia, the Middle East, and Europe have expressed interest in attending, with many planning bilateral meetings during the event, officials confirmed.
Special delegations from Germany, the United States, China, and South Korea are also expected to attend. Notably, Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX and Starlink, and Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, have been invited to participate.
Rochi also noted that discussions with Starlink will be prioritized, with the goal of accelerating the rollout of its satellite internet services in Bangladesh.
As part of the summit program, select international investors will be taken on site visits to key industrial zones, including: Korean Export Processing Zone in Anwara, Chattogram, National Special Economic Zone in Mirsharai, Chattogram, Bangladesh Special Economic Zone in Araihazar, Narayanganj
The event will be hosted at a five-star venue in Dhaka, featuring multiple thematic sessions, networking opportunities, and dialogues between the public and private sectors. Bida anticipates the summit will play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh’s economic and trade prospects.
To further inspire investment, Bida will also introduce the Excellence in Investment Award 2025, honoring outstanding contributions by investors in driving economic growth.
