China reaffirms continued support for Bangladesh's development

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen said today China is committed to continuing its utmost support for Bangladesh's development and deepening cooperation in infrastructure projects including railways.

Highlighting the significance of 2025, which marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China, Yao emphasized China’s readiness to offer technical assistance for feasibility studies related to future projects.
The ambassador noted that over 20 Chinese companies have already established their South Asian headquarters in Bangladesh. Since the formation of Bangladesh’s interim government, 11 Chinese enterprises have invested $180 million in the country.

He expressed hope that Chinese enterprises would contribute to industrial modernization, export diversification, and the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two nations, ultimately benefiting the people of Bangladesh.
